This October of 2023 has been a month filled with nostalgia, music, and emotions for our band, Elko. Not only are we immersed in the routine of preparations for the release of our album "The Mystic Hope," but we have also been reminiscing about the past and reliving the moments that led us to form Elko in the first place.

The story of Elko dates back to 1989 when Bengi and Jaime met in school at the tender age of 15. A shared passion for music brought them together, and together, they embarked on the adventure of founding their own rock band. Thus, "The Mystic Hope" was born. They devoted countless hours to rehearsals, ten hours a week to be precise, with a single purpose: to create quality music. In those years, every chord, every lyric, and every song was woven with the intensity and passion of youth.

However, at the age of 17, personal and family challenges forced them to abruptly cut short their musical journey. It was a painful and lengthy hiatus that kept them away from the stage for nearly three decades.

But music never completely disappeared from their lives. A few years ago, while rummaging through old boxes filled with memories, Bengi and Jaime stumbled upon a hidden treasure: the songs they had created in their youth. It was as if time had stood still. This reunion with their musical past became a calling, a signal to reignite their passion and share their music with the world once more.

Thus, Elko was born, a band that reclaims the legacy of the past and carries it into the future. The name of this new album is a tribute to their old project, "The Mystic Hope," reflecting the connection between what they once were and what they are now. Music, after all, is a journey through time.

Since then, we have been tirelessly working on the production of our album, "The Mystic Hope," which contains those precious gems from our youth. Each song carries the essence and energy of those golden years, captured in a sonic time capsule.

This release is special to us as it represents a bridge between two eras, a tribute to perseverance, and a reminder that the passion for music never fades. Every note, every chord, and every word on this album bears witness to a story that refuses to be forgotten.
